  • Removing a Sound boad Transducer

Has anyone removed a sound board transducer from a Taylor Nylon string guitar? I've heard they're glued to the top, and want to avoid damaging the wood.

    Thanks,
    Tonedog.

    Hey Tonedog,
It really depends on who made the pickup. Our iBeam pickup should be held in with a double-sided adhesive. Something from K&K is probably glued into the guitar.

If you can identify the pickup's manufacturer, you should be able to get better insight into how it is held in.

      Hi,

It's a Taylor Nylon string guitar with a Fishman SBT. I believe it's glued in place.

Those things can be pretty stubborn.

K&K actually has a section on their site about removing the pickups, but I can't say how well it may apply to a Fishman SBT. You can read it here: http://kksound.com/support/trouble/removepure.php
