With the Shure GlxD16 you would only be able to use the magnetic signal.
I understand it would require a separate wireless unit for the magnetic and piezo, I just want to make sure that if I decide to go that route that a wireless would be able to be used before the preamp without any issues. Thanks again!

It actually sounds like the setup that you want to use would be ideal for the X-Bridge without a CTRL-X. The cable length would be important in maintaining the low end.

Other than that, it sound like the X-Bridge should work really well for you.
Thanks for the quick reply! Do you think I would have any issue going X-Bridge output to a wireless unit (Shure glxd16) into the Session DI? Or would the CTRL-X work better in this case? Thanks again.

    X-Bridge without Ctrl-X?

I'm interested in adding the X-Bridge to a MIM strat, and want to make sure I wouldn't be missing out on anything by not including the Ctrl-X. I will always use a TRS splitter out of the output jack of the guitar and route the piezo and magnetic signals independently (will never blend both signals into one output). I have no need to control piezo volume, and will control switching between magnetic, piezo, or both with a footswitch. I already have a Session DI I was planning on using as the preamp but am not opposed to trying a different preamp (Para DI possibly). I like the idea of not needing a battery in the guitar, and also doing the least amount of modifications. The only possible downside I see is the signal not being hot enough if a long cable run is used (or possibly a wireless system) from the piezo output to the preamp. Is there anything else I'm overlooking on not including the Ctrl-X? Thanks!
