Hey rschultz,
The manual specifies a 100mA minimum for the power supply, simply because that is the about the lowest mA rating you can get for a pro-level audio power supply.
Most power supplies for guitar pedals range from 100mA to 2000mA. If you were able to find a power supply that was under 100mA, it would probably be intended for a very different application.
