  • iBeam and Takamine Palethetic

I love the iBeam on my old Takamine Cedar top and want to install one on a new Takamine with the Palethetic piezo system. Unfortunately the Palethetic system routs a large slot under the saddle for the pickup. Does anyone have a solution for this?

    Hi basslines,

I'm sorry to say the palathetic pickup will likely obstruct the optimal location for the iBeam. It's not a good idea to place the iBeam too far from the saddle location as potential for boominess and feedback will increase.

If that's the case, the only applicable LR Baggs pickup would be the passive M1, M1Active or the up-coming M80 magnetic soundhole pickups.
