  • Strings for T-Bridge

I'm installing a T-Bridge on a hollow body electric guitar - hollow alder with walnut top. I usually use 10-46 strings, but I'm considering using heavier gauges to get a better acoustic tone. What kind of strings are recommended? What do other people use? Are there strings available that get the best of both worlds - electric and acoustic?

The composition of the strings won't impact the T-Bridge signal nearly as much as gauge. Heavier gauge strings will give more energy to the piezo sensors but will not necessarily cause it to sound more acoustic - it will most likely be a stronger signal of very similar tone and timbre.

It should work well with the string gauge you're most comfortable with or what works best with the magnetic pickups in that guitar.

There is nothing wrong with 10-46 if that's what is most comfortable.

That's good to know; thanks Bryan. I've been wanting to try out some 11-49s anyhow, so this would be a good opportunity.
