  • Suggested for ParaDI?

I recently bought a Para DI to use on gypsy jazz gigs with large PAs. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to start with the settings? I'm a little overwhelmed with the choices and flexibility. How do you set it flat, especially with the notches and midrange sweep?

I'm playing a Gitane with a K&K Pure Macaferri pickup, and I'm looking for a big, warm sound, similar to what you'd get out of a nylon string guitar. This guitar doesn't behave like a Martin/Guid/Gibson/Taylor, and that's not the sound I'm going for anyway.

    Thanks in advance.

To set everything flat, just set everything to '0' or straight up. As far as where to start the EQ for your jazz guitar, I'm afraid I can't really help you. I'm not to familiar with them specifically. Generally though, adding warmth can be done with the mid knob set to about 2 o' clock, and the knob marked KHZ at around the .8 mark.

There's no better experience than listening for yourself. I hope that helps a little.
