  • Hex + passive iBeam on TRS jack

    Hello everyone,

If I were to use this combination of pickups, would I need to use the 10 db or the 20 db attenuator on the Hex to make the output levels roughly equal?

You'd want to use the larger capacitor for greater attenuation. The 6800pF cap will drop the Hex signal to a level close to our Ribbon Transducer pickup which is just a bit lower than an iBeam.

Something to consider with this pickup combo is that the Hex Pickup wires will prevent the iBeam from being placed in its optimal location under the saddle. It means you may get more benefit from some notch filtering or low-cut for the iBeam signal.
