Best Pickup For a Taylor GC3?

Hello! New member to the forum here.

I recently purchased a Taylor GC3, to be used for fingerpicking and light strumming. It is a Grand Concert, Taylor's smallest body. I am very intrigued by the new Lyric system and I think that is what I want install in my new guitar. I just wanted to get some opinions to see if I have a concensus on my choice.

So how about it, what are the pros and cons of my choice for that type of guitar?

O.k........let me try this another way. Is the Lyric a better choice than,say, an Active Ibeam? I really don't care for the idea of a sound hole pickup, and want something invisible.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

In our tests so far at LR Baggs, the Lyric is more resistant to feedback than the iBeam Active.

As far as compatibility, both the Lyric and the iBeam have a pretty good track record with smaller-body guitars. In my honest opinion though, the Lyric does sound more natural in general. If the iBeam works well in a guitar, then there's nothing better, but that doesn't always happen.

Thank you Caleb! That helps a lot! One quick follow-up question. In your opinion will the Lyric benefit from the use of a Gigpro (I have one already), or would I likely be better off going straight into my Mackie VLZ1402 mixer, to my P.A?

I can't see any reason not to use the Gigpro, since you have it. It would give you a little bit of EQ, a nice signal boost, and a phase switch. So I would recommend it.
