  • iMix iBeam weak 6th string

    Hi,

When using my iMix, I have noticed, on the iBeam side, the 6th string volume is very low compared to the rest. Is it possible that the iBeam was installed the other way around? Can this happen? Possible solution?

I never touched the setting on the iMix. Is this set to a default setting?
    Thanks.

    Sincerely,
    Loren

    Hi Loren,

I used the iMix in the past and though I don't remember the factory settings, I can tell you that there is a bass roll off dial on the preamp for the ibeam part of the iMix. So, any frequency below the threshold is cut (I think it somewhere around 18 db). That severely diminishes any frequencies below the set threshold. I think it may be preset so that the Element carries more of the low end. If you want to experiment with this setting you will need a screwdriver with a very small head. The ibeam bass roll off setting is the second adjustment screw from the top. To increase bass response roll it all the way to the left (counterclockwise), and adjust from there until you get what you want.
    Hope that helps.

      Hi Kevin,

Thanks! Makes a lot of sense. Will give it a try. I used to have just the iBeam Active and did remember that it had more bass. Will try it out later

        Hi Kevin,

I did as you suggested and wow! The bass is back! In fact, it's way better than the way I remember my old iBeam. Love the flexibility of the preamp controls.

        Thanks.
