  • acousticaster 12 string lr baggs model

I recently bought a used acousticaster 12-string LR Baggs model. Everything I have read online tells me that it has an active pickup system but I cannot find anyplace to insert batteries. Is it possible that this model uses a non-active pickup?

On the Acousticaster guitars, the batteries are usually held in the compartment behind the volume and EQ sliders. If you remove the back plate on the back side of the instrument over that cavity, you should see the battery clip(s).

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, this guitar does not have any backplates. I believe the guitar is a 1999 model, so it could be different than the newer acousticasters.

        Ok,
So on your model, you just have to remove the face plate from the front of the guitar. This is done by removing the four outermost screws on the plate. The preamp is attached to the plate, so remove it with care not to damage the wires that connect to it. The battery should be resting behind the preamp.
