I have a M1A that I installed about a month ago and have used with no problems up until about a week ago . Now it cracks up during use, particularly when picking hard or on lower notes. Battery was new when installed and cord disconnected after each use. Any ideas?

It would definitely be a good idea to replace the battery, even though it's new. If a new battery fixes the issue, then there may be a short in the output jack.
