Anthem plus M1 possible?

Hi
I have a customer who wants to install a M1 Magnetic Pickup together with the Anthem System. Is it possible to (somehow) solder the Magnetic to the ring of the output jack, so he could break out the two systems on one Y Stereocable?

Hey riffhai,
The short answer is that it is possible. However, the amount of modifications that it requires just to get an additional wire to fit under the shielding barrel is pretty ridiculous. The Anthem SL already has 4 separate, self contained wires leading from inside the preamp, out through that very small hole in the barrel shield. Adding another wire for the M1, and making room to solder the hot and ground leads to the preamp is extremely difficult to do without overheating something. Since the process is considered a preamp modification, it will also void the warranty of the system.

So it's not something that I would recommend doing, by any means.
