The sound can cut out or loud crackling sounds when this button is pushed in or out. It intermittently works as long as I set it and leave it alone while it's working.

If the sound is cutting out when the phase is pressed, you may have a bad button. If you're interested in getting that fixed, shoot me an email and I'll get you taken care of.
