    Hi Chuck,

    Sorry for the delay.

"So, if I understand you correctly... in MONO mode the CTRL-X pot blends the mag signal and the piezo signal, IE: If the pot is set at 50%, I would get equal blend of both sources and if it were turned 100% one way or the other I would get only the mag or only the piezo? If so, that's what I am looking to do with no 3 way switch."

This is what you will get from MONO mode once the small trim pot on the CTRL-X is adjusted so the piezo signal matches the magnetic when isolated.

"So would the CTRL-X behave as a volume control if only the mags or only X-Bridge are selected with the 3 position toggle switch? Blending out the selected source? Just trying to figure out all my options here. I'm now looking at having only one pot (the on-board one from CTRL-X)."

In MONO mode, the CTRL-X pot operates as a mix ONLY when the mini-toggle is in the center position. If you isolate either signal with the mini-toggle, that mix pot does nothing and the master volume controls the isolated signal.

Please reply or contact me at [email protected] if you have further questions.

Thank you for your question. I can explain something about the CTRL-X that may alter your question.

The CTRL-X is designed to work differently in the two modes of operation - MONO and STEREO.

In MONO mode, the CTRL-X acts as a blend control and the single magnetic volume control is used as the master volume for the entire guitar.

The only way to have separate volume controls for the magnetic and piezo signals is for the CTRL-X to operate in STEREO mode. This outputs the two signals to separate contacts of the same jack or, if you want, to separate output jacks.

Please clarify if you would like to output in MONO mode or if you insist on separate volume controls.
    Thanks for the reply.

    Control-X Wiring Help

I am wiring an X-Bridge (with Control X) and a mag humbucker into a custom build. I just want two volume controls - one for the X-bridge and one for the mag, so I can blend the two pickups. No tone control, no 3 way switch. Can this be done and if so, can you help me figure out the wiring?
