  • Anthm interference with Shure wireless mic and bodypack transmitter

This is my second post on an Anthem system I have installed on a dread. When the guitar is set up with a Shure GLXD1 bodypack transmitter (for the guitar audio out), if the player walked up to the Shure ULXD2 microphone it feeds interference through the Anthem system (sounds like background static). Ok here is where it gets better - if you roll off UST (toward the neck) the static drops to a minimum.

As an experiment, if I wave the Shure mic close to the guitar body, the static shows up when I move anywhere close to the wiring or unit (i.e., from bridge to bass waist side, to controls, to battery box. Clearly the wires are acting as an antenna.

One last thing - if the guitar is plugged in directly (not through the bodypack transmitter, no static in that case.

    Thoughts?

It sounds like the Anthem is picking up digital interference from the Shure system. If you want to email me directly at tech@lrbaggs.com, I will see what I can do to help you with this.
