  • Ribbon connectors available?

Someone online is selling a dual source preamp, but says he had has trouble with the ribbon connectors. Can I purchase those? Or is it more likely that the connector(s) on the preamp has a problem?

Shoot me an email at [email protected]. I will see what I can do to help.

Second thought, dual source might not be the best route to go. What I'm trying to achieve is a dual source system using my favorite pickup, the LB6. So, I'm considering using Lyric and putting the LB-6 on the "thru" channel. I'm trying to simplify, so I'd really like to mix to mono in the guitar, but I don't know of a way to do that. I guess I'm really trying to replicate the old Duet but use a Lyric. Any thoughts?

The Lyric isn't compatible with any onboard mixing systems at this time. So the only way to mix the Lyric and the LB6 would be to output in stereo, like you said, using the Aux output on the Lyric. Then you would just need to blend the signals outside of the guitar with a stereo preamp like the Mixpro, or through a mixer or amp.

I've loved the few times I've heard the Lyric and LB6 together. If you can find a setup that will work for you, it should be a great combo.

Still noodling regarding lb6 dual source system. Can you tell me the purpose, function, and benefit of that lb6 end pin pre? Thank.

The LB Pre would allow you to send an active, low impedance signal from the guitar, without the need for an external preamp. You would get a more consistent tone, despite varying cable lengths or the impedance whatever you are plugging into. The output level will also be high enough to directly interface with an amp or PA.
