Too much bottom out of a new Anthem Tru-Mic?

Hi All-

I'm new to LR Baggs products, but was won over by all the positive reviews for the Anthem TRu-MIc as the best pick-up to get the truest sound out of my Martin HD28.

Despite my worry about such an invasive installation process on such a beautiful sounding guitar, I had my luthier install it and have not been able to get a good sound out of it. The 6th string (100 Hz range) is over the top loud, and no matter how I adjust the mic, I'm winding up with nothing but mud. I can't EQ the signal down enough to make it usable. Tried to attach a screenshot which shows an open strum, which looks basically the same no matter how I try to balance the pick-up. Here's a link to view:

I'm wondering if anyone else out there has had a similar problem. Thanks for any help or wisdom!

Hi Dale,
I should start off my saying that the actual mic in the Anthem never carries signal below 250Hz. So no matter what mic adjustments you make to the mic or the mix, sound under 250Hz will always be carried by the undersaddle pickup.

Since that sound is definitely coming from the pickup, it is easy to guess that you are encountering a balance issue with the pickup. This can usually be fixed by flattening out the saddle bottom and the slot. However, the saddle's fit into the slot, and the installation of the pickup can also come into play.

I'd love to talk with you on the phone about it, if you are willing. These kinds of problems are not uncommon with undersaddle pickups, so we should be able to work out a solution for you.

I am having the same problem with my Anthem which was installed the other day. The Bottom E is very loud in comparison to the other strings and I have to have the bass on my LR Baggs Venue DI on Zero. It was installed by an experienced guitar tech who has installed loads of Baggs pickups so I doubt that he has got it wrong !

Any suggestions please ?
