  • The recommended/ideal set of preamps/effects

    Hi,
I own a nice Furch steel string guitar with the Anthem pickup.
Now I wonder for life solo fingerpicking concerts: what preamps/effects would you suggest to get a nice sound without too much relying on the PA?

E.g. Session DI + Reverb? Or Venue DI + Reverb or Align Session + Reverb...

There are so many different options that it is really hard to figure out what is needed to get a great sound...

    Thanks a lot :-)

    Hey norbert,
Picking a preamp, DI, or effects is definitely a matter of personal need and preference. If you want/need EQ, then the Venue is a great option. If you want a simpler way to balance your tone then the Session DI would be a good option. If you want to go all-in, the Venue and the Align Session is a great combo, giving you control over the EQ as well as texture and balance with the Session.

It sounds like you want the Reverb in any case, which is always a nice addition.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of these combinations. It's just a matter of which features you need the most. I hope this helps.
