  • Lyric in Goodall RS

I put a Lyric into my Goodall Rosewood Standard (replacing my old Baggs Dual Source) and I've been futzing with the presence, trying to find a good tone. The upper midrange is overpowering everything else. If I set the presence much above it's minimum, the high end sound overly bright, but the mid range is a little more tame in comparison. The bottom end, of which my guitar has plenty, ends up disappearing. I've got a Para DI, which can tame it a little, but it never sounds much like the guitar itself.

I understand there are other placement options which may help?

I would need to get some replacement adhesive pads to try out other placements (as I can't find the spare that came with the pickup).

    Any other tips?

    Thanks!

    Hey Evan,
If you want to send me your mailing address at [email protected], I can get you some new adhesives as well as the mic re-positioning diagram.

When the Lyric is overly mid-heavy, changing the mic placement really helps- at least in my experience.

      Hello Caleb,

What Evanweider is describing is exactly my experience as well. Is there any chance you could email the diagram for the alternative positions for the mic.

Also as far as the adhesive pads go ...I'm in Australia . Is there anything I can buy off the shelf that would do the job?

      Thanks kindly
