sudden volume increase

Wow... that never occurred to me! It is absolutely a possibility. I will investigate further and if it's still an issue, I will repost. Somebody had suggested that the battery in the M1 could be the issue. I had forgotten that I even had a battery in there to worry about. I'm planning on replacing that as well. Do you think a failing battery in the M1 could cause this?

It's not as likely, but I still wouldn't rule it out. Usually a dying battery will result in a distorted sound, with a much slower decline in volume until the signal went away completely.

Is there any chance you are hitting the volume on your M1A with your hand/pick?

It might be worth trying it with the M1A volume at full, and the DI's gain set a little lower. If you accidentally bumped the volume, it could pretty easily explain a sudden change in volume.

Of course, if you rule that out, I'm happy to look into this more. It doesn't sound like anything I've heard of with the Para DI or the M1A.

Hi, I am new to the forum. I have a Guild D55 with an M1 active pickup and PADI running into a mixer. I have had the same problem with 3 different mixers, so I'm assuming it's not the mixer. When I am playing my guitar loudly, all of the sudden the volume increase by 2 or 3 times. You can imagine the blast that comes from the speakers. It's startling to say the least. I have replaced the battery in the PADI. I have the Gain set at 12 oclock, the volume set at 9 oclock and the volume on the M1 set at about 1/4. Any ideas what could cause this? Thanks!
