I installed a Lyric in my Breedlove about a year ago, and I love it. I play through a Fender Passport PA (very small 250W system). Sometimes I play thru a TC Helicon Harmony-G, sometimes I use a Rolls passive direct box with a Hi-Z cord to the Rolls and a Low-Z mic cable from the Rolls to the Passport. Sometimes I just go straight into the Passport. No matter what, the Lyric sounds great and I can get good tone with plenty of headroom (the Lyric seems to like plenty of headroom). Tonight I went to rehearse for this Sunday at our church for the first time with the Breedlove. The church is huge (seats about 1200) with a high-tech sound system. I plugged the Hi-Z guitar cable into the church's fancy active DI box, Low-Z mic cable out to the board, and the professional sound tech says I don't have enough input gain to go thru the system. We switched the batteries in the Lyric, switched to another cable, and switched DI boxes, with no change. The song director plugged his Taylor into my setup - plenty of input gain. The tech plugged me into a LR Baggs Para Acoustic DI with the gain maxed out, and had barely enough gain to go thru the system and sounded like crap. He ended up mic'ing my guitar. I came home, plugged into my Rolls Passive DI, and it sounded perfect. What the heck is going on?!?! I would love to use my Lyric on Sunday!! HELP! Uuuugh!
