  • Help With Taylor Expression System

    Hi
I have just purchased a Taylor 314CE, with the embedded Taylor Expression System.
Although the natural sound of the guitar is absolutely wonderful, I cannot say the same about the plugged sound.
I don't want to have it cut, neither install a totally new pickup/mike system. I was thinking about an outboard unit to improve my sound.
What do you suggest to improve the plugged sound of my guitar? Taking a condenser to stage is not an option for the places I play.

    Hi Erico,

Although it helps MORE to start with a better sounding pickup system, I can recommend either the Venue DI or the Para Acoustic DI. The clean and quiet FET input gain/buffer circuit should warm up the sound a bit and both units offer EQ effective for dialing in a more pleasant tone in most playing situations.

I should mention, however, that neither will accept a balanced signal from the instrument. They are single-channel units with unbalanced signal inputs. If your ES is capable of balanced output, you'd have to forgo that option.
