Output fades away after an indeterminate time of perfect function, often returns after a few seconds, no crackling or anything suggestive of bad contact, tried new batteries, changing leads etc any ideas?

Hi Graham,
How old is your SL? Has it been functioning normally until recently?

Hi caleb, Brand new into old taylor 314ce, functions perfectly 80% of time then its like the volume control rolls off. The install is slightly non standard in that the battery leads are wired to the battery connector in the old decomissioned fishman unit. I'm wondering if this may have a dry solder or something

I would check the soldering for the battery and make sure that the jack is protruding through the tail of the guitar far enough. If you want to run a quick test with the jack, you can try removing the strap button and plugging into the jack without the button on. If you get a consistent signal that way, the jack may just need to be adjusted.
