Hello guys, I recently bought a used guitar that came fitted with the Anthem. The guitar worked fine and I bought it from a trusted friend. Ignorantly, I plugged in the guitar to a really old mixer without running it through a DI, and I suspect it was a power surge that killed the preamp when the mixer was switched on, while my guitar was plugged in. According to my local repair tech, the preamp has been shortcircuited and is very difficult to repair. He has recommended I replace the entire pickup system. But as I already blew my budget on this guitar, I really do not want to spend another $300 on something I just bought literally a week ago.
The tech says the piezzo and the mic are both working, and only the preamp is damaged. If anyone has alternative suggestions, I would really like to hear them. Thank you!
