Lowden S25 Jazz Anthem SL classical problem

Hi I have just replaced the original EMG pickup in my 1998 Lowden Jazz with an Anthem SL Classical.
I purchased the Anthem SL Classical after glowing reviews and loving the sound out of my Breedlove N250 CR nylon which has an element stage pro fitted.
The new Anthem SL sounds hollow and thin almost as though it is out of phase ( my installer confirmed the element pickupnis mounted with the black dot facing upward and visible with saddle removed).
i have tried all sorts of combinations of mic volume but I cannot get a sound that is even close to being considered acceptable to me.
the original EMG system sounds a lot better than this anthem SL.

Quick update. Store where I purchased organised a return authorisation, hopefully new replacement pickup will sound great.
