  • Distorted Bass

A few weeks I got an L.R. Baggs Anthem professionally installed. All of a sudden, after some playing the bass notes are extremely distorted. The distortion is sometimes not there when I tilt the guitar. Here's a sound sample while tilting the guitar:

It occurs no matter if mix is set to microphone or transducer.

Here's how installation looks like, not sure if I captured everything relevant:

I think something might have loosened, but honestly have no idea what the cause is. Any ideas?

It sounds to me like there may be something loose in the preamp that is causing a rattle when the guitar is angled the right way. If you press on the preamp when the noise is occurring, does the noise change or stop?

Pressing on the preamp did not help, I still think you may right, when I shake the guitar I can hear some rattling. After not playing a day the sound disappeared for some time and there was no distortion.

        Ok,
If there is something loose inside the preamp, you should probably take it to a local shop to have them look at it. They should be able to open up the three screws and get any loose pieces out before re-installing the preamp.
