Tru Mic position on too small bridge?

Hi. I put an Anthem SL on a Martin SC13e and this guitar has a bridge that is too small for the Tru Mic to fit
in the recommended position on the bridge in front of the pins. What is the next best alternative and I am also looking to lower the brightness of the sound. Should I try on the far side of the bridge over the pins or on the top past the bridge, or on the top closest to the soundhole in front of the bridge? Thanks.
