Breedlove installed Element Active VTC has overall low output

My Breedlove has a factory installed Element Active VTC. I've always suspected low output but have now confirmed it. I just bought a Session Acoustic DI pedal and I cannot get enough input volume to even blink the red light when adjusting the input Gain (playing soft or loud). Yes, the battery is new. I've tried other guitars with the pedal and they are working fine. I am able to fully saturate the pedal with the input gain control with the other guitars. Are there any kind of adjustments on the Element Active preamp or is it just time to visit my local guitar repair shop.

The volume control in the soundhole is the only adjustment you can make on the fly. Aside from that, you'd be looking at aspects of the installation like the saddle fit, flatness, and material.
