  • Lyric with M-80 passive

Hi guys, I'm from Brazil and I was thinking in use the Lyric with the M-80 together in the same output jack. It's that even possible? But I don't have a stereo DI or preamp, I have a fishman aura spectrum DI, and I was thinking to use the fishman to give more gain and some eq in the Two signals at the same time. This is Possible? Use 2 pickups together like one thing? without some two different eqs or something?

    Hey Arthur,
Unfortunately, the Lyric can only by combined with other sources if you use a stereo output into a stereo mixer or preamp.

The M80 is compatible with the iMix and the Dual Source with the use of a special cable, but the Lyric mic is only compatible with Lyric preamp.

    I hope that helps.

I see. But, if I plug the M-80 in the Lyric preamp, I can use the two pickups together?

The only place to add a second pickup is on the Ring of the Lyric jack. If you set the M80 in Passive mode and solder it to the Ring on the Lyric, then you would get a stereo output when using stereo gear, and the Lyric by itself when using a mono setup.

Unfortunately, there isn't any way of adding the M80 to the Lyric for combined mono output from the guitar.

Understand. What gear you recomend for stereo output?

For a simple setup, the Mixpro is a great way to mix a stereo signal into a mono one. From there, you should be able to use any acoustic amp or PA to easily amplify both sources.

If you want a bigger setup or just more tone shaping options, then a small mixer or something like the Headway EDB-2 are great options for getting more EQ into your signal.

            I hope that helps.
