  • M1 Problem

I just bought an M1 pickup and did a quick install using the 10ft guitar cable it comes with. Works well through my tube amp but I have tried to plug it into two different PA mixer boards and I get no sound. Am I missing something? Any help would be much appreciated!

Are you using a preamp with your M1? The reason I ask is that the Passive M1 is a fairly low output pickup. So if you were using a high wattage, high impedance tube amp, you could get a fair signal. Then if you plugged into a low impedance input on a mixer or PA without a preamp or DI box, you might have an extremely low signal.

Thanks for the feedback! So I guess I'll have to buy a DI box? Any other options?

A simple DI is the cheapest option. Something like this should do the trick: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-a...ttenuation-pad

You can also get something that will act as a preamp and a DI like our Para DI: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/acces...ra-acoustic-di

I would go with the Para DI. I have one and it works great.
