M1 1/4" strap jack output wiring.

Hi there,
I've attached a pic of my passive M1 output that has a red wire, white wire and sleeve. Can anybody confirm which is the 'hot' wire and which is the ring. I'm guessing red is the hot and white is ring but just wanted to be sure before adding another passive to the ring. My other simple question is what happens to the wire that's already on the ring if I use that same terminal to add a second passive - can it just be disconnected?

On the M1 Passive, the red wire is the signal. If you are connecting a second source tot he ring, the white wire can be clipped.
