I always recommend using your ears. The passive mode of the M80 will bypass the its internal EQ, so it would give you a different response. I like the M80 in active mode, but that's just me. -

I was just curious about making the most neutral passive sound from the M80 and colorize the tone in the Venue DI. I'll give it a try...

The Venue has a pretty powerful and effective EQ, so it should be pretty easy to dial in the sound that you're looking for.Comment
