What under saddle pickup could I use with a 3/16" saddle slot? Any ideas? I'd rather not have to fill and recut the slot, but that's a possible solution.

The Element should work just fine in a 3/16" saddle slot. I've seen the Element used in slots as wide as 1/4" all the way down to 3/32". That should give you plenty of pickup variations to work with.
