  • Can T Bridge Saddle slot be filed wider

For the T Bridge, can the saddle slots be filed wider without damaging the piezo that is embedded in them? It seems like it should be safe to do this, but I thought I'd ask first before I tried it. I thought I had a bad saddle for my low E string, but when I flipped the bridge the other way, that saddle worked fine on the high E string. So I think the problem might be that my string is too wide and not sitting down in the slot and therefore not making full contact. I can hear the low E string, but it is very muffled compared to the other strings. Thanks in advance!

It is possible to widen the slot on a T-saddle without damaging the pickup. I wouldn't recommend deepening the slot, but widening it should be fine.

Super. I thought that was probably the case. Thanks for clarifying that. I'm going to mask the bottom of the slot to protect it. Thanks again!
