Hey guys,
I have installed a fixed style x-bridge onto my peavey session which is essentially a dual humbucker single volume, single tone with push pull split and 3 way toggle. Mechanical install went just fine, but a bit confused regarding a few of the connections. hoping someone can help?
The issue I'm running into is connection differences between the ctrl-x and T-bridge instructions. The ctrl x (strat based) says to run the orange wires from the mini toggle and ctrl x board to the CW leg on the stock magnetic volume pot, also the red wire from the jack to the middle lug on the stock magnetic volume pot.
The t bridge instruction (which more closely resembles my guitar setup) says to wire the two orange and the red wire together (in the tips section) and doesn't seem to require any connection to the volume pot.
Also, in the control x instruction, it says to disconnect the white wire running from the volume pot to the pickup switch output and connect the white wire from the mini toggle in it's place. In the t bridge instruction under tips, it says to wire them together.
Wondering if anyone can help me make sense of my wiring? I have a diagram drawn of what I did (ctrl x instruction performed only, I just noticed the differences in the t bridge instructions). It won't let me upload it, but I'll see if I can figure out a way. I can email it if anyone would like to see it and help.
My piezo works when on the piezo only mini toggle position and sounds normal, but my stock magnetic volume pot controls the volume in both that and the middle blend positions and the ctrl x pot doesn't seem to do much of anything. The piezo also works in the middle mini toggle blend position, but I notice a weaker signal and a kind of modified piezo sound there, the ctrl x pot does affect it, but very slightly near the middle of the range and it doesn't become noticeably magnetic or piezo sounding when I roll the ctrl x pot fully in either direction.
wondering if someone can help?
Thanks in advance.
