  • Bad XLR connection on Paracoustic DI

Hey all. First time posting here. I need some help. I have a Paracoustic DI that’s been really useful on my weekly gigs but I’m now having significant trouble with it. The XLR output seems to be loose and not making a good connection. No matter the cable I use I have to wiggle it to get it to work and when I do it pops loudly and won’t hold a connection. Yesterday I sprayed a little bit of contact cleaner in there and wiped it out with a Q-tip but it didn’t seem to do anything. Still had the same problem at last night’s gig. I’ve done a Google search and found nothing. Any thoughts?

    Thank you!

    Hey Dallasblues,
If your XLR connection is getting worn out and loose, it could be that the pins in the jack are wearing out. In that case, the jack itself should probably be replaced. I've seen multiple situations where an intermittent connection at the XLR ended up being a problem with the cable, but if you've tried a few cables already, it's probably the jack.

If you want to get that repaired, shoot me an email at [email protected] and I can give you some options.
