  • Does my T-Bridge need the Control-X preamp?

Hi, I bought a piezo T-Bridge that I will plug into a Fishman Loudbox mini amp

with this setup would I need the Control-X?

    Hey Crusader,
    Thanks for posting.

The T-Bridge comes with a stereo output jack so that you can use the T-Bridge passively, utilizing an external preamp. You would only need the CTRL-X if you wanted to blend the magnetic and Piezo signals on the guitar, or if you didn't want to rely on an external preamp for the T-Bridge.

The Loudbox Mini has a good amount of gain available, so you should be able to plug the T-Bridge directly into that, without an additional preamp. You'd just need a stereo-Y cable to split the stereo signal coming from the guitar.

    I hope this helps.

Yes that helps a lot, thank you

But also, when you say 'blend the magnetic and piezo signals...' Does this mean plugging into one amp with one lead?

(ie.) If I had the Control-X, could I plug into a regular guitar amp, or still need an accoustic amp for best results?

Using the CTRL-X will allow you to blend the signals together into a mono output or separate them into stereo.

Without the CTRL-X you will only get both signals if you use a stereo or stereo-Y cable. A mono cable will only give you the magnetic pickups.
