Function of Pickup in Creating a Voiceprint

I have Elements in two of my guitars. When creating a voiceprint, what function does the pickup have? Can I turn the volume all the way off to create the voiceprint? In a live performance, do I need to use my pickup or can I use the Voiceprint DI alone as my pickup?

Hey Mike,
The mic in the phone measures the acoustic response of the guitar, and the pedal measures the response of the pickup at the same time. All of that data is combined together to create the final Voiceprint. Without the pickup data, or without the mic data, the Voiceprint would be incomplete.

With that said, there is a lot of experimentation to be done with all of the possibilities within that process. It might be possible to use the Advanced Voiceprint creation process to record the guitar (pickup muted) with Step 1, and then use Step two to record the pickup on a completely different guitar.

Some tests like that could end up working out really well.
