  • Voceprint and venue di together?

What do you guys think about running both the venue di and voiceprint together? Is it a good idea? I like the boost and tuner functions on the venue and miss them on the voiceprint. What would be a good setup order? I was considering this order : guitar>voiceprint >venue>PA. And running some reverb on the fx loop of the venue. What do you guays think? Has anyone tried something similar?

I've talked with a few people who have used those together, with solid results. I'd recommend using the VPDI first, then the reverb, and Venue DI last. That should allow everything in the chain to work pretty optimally.

Thanks Caleb! So you recommend me not to connect the reverb on the fx loop of the venue? Instead connect it Directly from the line out of the voiceprint to the guitar line input on the venue? Guitar>voiceprint >reverb>venue>PA

I think it's easier to run the Reverb in-line with everthing. The performance of the pedal shouldn't change in any noticeable way whether it's in the FX Loop or in-line.

Hey Caleb, to that same setup how would you connect a multifx pedal like the line 6 podgo? Thanks

The same ideas still apply. You can run the Pod in the FX loop if you want to be able to utilize the XLR and 1/4" outputs. If you only need the 1/4" out, you can run the Pod in line after the VPDI. I don't suspect that the Pod will sound very good since it's not geared toward acoustic guitar, but it won't hurt anything.

Thanks Caleb! I have been running the Venue and Voiceprint together and the results are amazing!!! The only thing is that the gain on the venue is not going up to the yellow lights. Maybe i need to crank up the voiceprint preset volume. Any suggestions?

I would recommend raising the VP level first (in the VP section of the app). You should be able to raise the VP Level by +8-10dB or so, which should make the Voiceprint level similar to the pickup level. The VPs are a little quiet when they're initially generated and the VP level lets you match the input and output level of the pedal. You can boost the preset level too, but I would start with the VP level. That should make a nice difference.
